Hello There!
It’s Sab here, your Fun English Teacher, and I’d like to welcome you to this little grammar lesson all about ‘make‘ and ‘do‘.
Now, ‘make‘ and ‘do‘ can give people a lot of problems when speaking English. There are some rules which you can learn, and some things just sound right.
For example, we say ‘make a cake’, not ‘do a cake’. We say ‘do homework’, not ‘make homework’.
But there are also a lot of expressions – very common expressions, where there is not much logic. It can seem a little bit crazy! We say ‘do the shopping’ but ‘make a decision’. Why – don’t ask me – I’m just the Fun English Teacher!
Don’t worry! Just learn the couple of rules I tell you about below, and practise saying the common expressions. You will be fine!
Enjoy this lesson – DO your best and I’m sure you will MAKE lots of progress!
See you next lesson! Bye bye.
